"RIST – A Breakthrough for Internet Media Transport"
Download course description (95k, pdf)
Description: The Reliable Internet Stream Transport (RIST) protocol as specified in VSF TR-06 provides an interoperable method for high-quality media transport over unmanaged networks, including the public Internet. Suitable for a wide range of applications, including venue to studio contribution and program distribution, this protocol is generating a great deal of interest in the user community.
This course will explore all of the key features and functions of RIST, covering both the Simple profile (which has been available since late 2018) and the Main profile, which is scheduled for release in late 2019. Key topics to be covered include:
- Overview of Simple and Main RIST profiles and compatibility
- Multi-stream multiplexing/tunneling using GRE
- DTLS encryption and certificate management
- Pre-Shared Key encryption
- Null packet deletion
If time permits, a live RIST video link will be configured and connected via hotel WiFi or 4G LTE.
Time: Monday, February 24, 2020 3:00-5:00 pm PST at the Marina del Rey Marriott in the Catalina Room on the Lower Level. Light refreshments will be provided.
Tutorial Rate: $225
